Penelope Cruz to play in von Trier’s movie

New Lars von Trier’s sci-fi film is starting to embrace the “real shapes” with the confirmation of Penelope Cruz’s participation in the project. The information of the Hollywood star of “Vanilla Sky” and Almodovar’s films fame was given by the Danish director himself.

The start of the filming of “Melancholia” will take place in Sweden and Germany in summer. It is known the budget of the movie is somewhat 5 million dollars and its premier will be held at the Cannes Film Festival 2011.

It is known that Melancholia is a giant planet that approaches the Earth at a dangerously close distance. Lars von Trier has already promised that there won’t be any happy ending in the movie. The secretive director reveals that the film will demonstrate a massive disaster from the psychological point of view. It is also know that there definitely will be some special effects but we won’t see anything common with the Hollywood outlines.
